All About The Community

This video project everyone has been working on the last couple of days is very time consuming.  My video is going to be about the Southern community and why people chose to come here and be apart of the Owls.  One of my questions I ask are for the freshmen class in general.  I want to m ake sure each and every freshmen enjoys there first year in college.  So far I have asked three people about what they like about this community.  My questions are going to be like:
1. In your own words, what do you think is a community?
2. What do you like most about being apart of the Southern community?
3. What are some tips and/or advice you have for the freshmen class?
4. Would you recommend Southern to high school students int he future? Why? Why not?

That's just a couple of questions I have.  I think these questions are important because a lot of people on campus don't really fit in and this will help them open up a little more.  Number 4 is mostly for the freshmen class because we are all new to this college experience and I think its a good idea to get a different point of view from someone who already lived it.  Southern is a community and its mostly about people coming together as a whole and becoming one big family.  For my video, I want to take these questions and record my voice when I read each question and answer aloud.  Then I'm going to have a slideshow of all the people I have interviewed and add some pictures of the campus. In between each interview, I will have a cool sound to move onto the next interview.  Im making my video through imovie.  I hope you all like my video. :)

Getting Invlovedd

On September 19, 2012, Southern held an Involvement Fair, where you could go and join clubs and meet new people.   I was finishing up some last minute homework and I gotten to the fair a little late. My roommate and I walked around the fair for a little where she spotted the Greek clubs.  She was very interested in joining a sorority and so she signed up.  I saw a lot of clubs that I liked hearing about but I didn’t sign up for anything.  Before I sign up for a club, I would like to get used to the campus first and see if I could join a sports team.  Softball is on my mind right now so I’m going to hold off on joining a club for now.  The Best Buddies club caught my attention.  They deal with mentally handicapped kids and they show those kids how to have fun.  Maybe next semester I will sign up.

Southern Owls.

 Jacob Jablonski

The football team took on St. Augustine's September 15 on a chilly night.  When the game first opened up, the Owls were in the lead 14-0 but the visiting team didn’t go down without a fight.  They scored the final 30 points of the game to make the final score 30-14.  The quarterback, Jacob Jablonski, for the Owls helped his fellow teammates out and got a touchdown.  After the Owls had scored the first 14 points of the game, it started to get boring to watch until St. Augustine started to actually play good.  Everyone was off their seats and cheering on the Owls.  But, in the end, St. Augustine took the win.  Better luck next time Owls.
